On February 21, 2024, Luxembourg signed the U.S.-led Global Net-Zero Government Initiative agreement formalizing the commitment to achieving net-zero emissions from national government operations by no later than 2050. The initiative agreement was signed by Tom Barrett, the U.S. Ambassador to Luxembourg, and Serge Wilmes, Luxembourg’s Minister of the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity.
The FEDIL Environment Award rewards companies whose technical and financial efforts aim at combining productivity and preservation of natural resources, sustainable development and energy efficiency.
Building on the success of the first call for projects launched in November 2022, the Ministry of the Economy and the Ministry of Energy and Spatial Planning have decided to launch a second call for projects to encourage companies to set up and operate photovoltaic solar power plants in Luxembourg, with the aim of enabling them to use the electricity produced themselves.
