The American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Luxembourg held its annual New Year Reception yesterday at the BCEE/Spuerkeess. It was attended by various dignitaries, business leaders and entrepreneurs.
LuxRelo was represented by our co-founder, Stephane Compain. The event was particularly special this year, as it was honored by the presence of Luxembourg Prime Minister, Xavier Bettel, who was the guest speaker for the evening.
The New Year Reception was an opportunity for the American business community in Luxembourg to come together and celebrate the strong relationship between the US and Luxembourg. The two countries have a long-standing partnership, and the US played a significant role in the liberation of Luxembourg during World War II. In his speech, Prime Minister Bettel emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifices made by the American soldiers and expressed his gratitude for the friendship between the two countries.
Additionally, Prime Minister Bettel talked about the significant contribution made by US companies to Luxembourg’s economy. Many well-known companies such as Goodyear, DuPont de Nemours, Amazon, and others have established a strong presence in the country, providing employment opportunities and contributing to the wealth of the nation.
In his speech, Prime Minister Bettel also touched upon the importance of a strong Europe working together to avoid protectionism and nationalism. He stressed that peace and economic stability can only be achieved by countries working together, and that a united Europe is the best way to achieve this.
The New Year Reception was a testament to the strong relationship between the US and Luxembourg, and it was an honor for our co-founder, Stephane Compain, to be a part of it. The event was a great opportunity for the business community to come together and celebrate the successes of the past year, while looking forward to the future with optimism and hope.
In conclusion, the AmCham New Year Reception was a fantastic event that showcased the strong ties between the US and Luxembourg, and emphasized the importance of working together for a better future. With so many US companies established in Luxembourg, it is clear that the relationship between the two countries is as strong as ever.
