AmCham EU: Letter to members of AmCham Luxembourg

Dear AmCham Luxembourg members,

We are delighted to welcome the American Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg (AmCham Luxembourg) as one of the first formal national partners of AmCham EU. This partnership will strengthen AmCham collaboration and enhance our collective influence on EU policy in Brussels and across Member State capitals.

Given the growing push for regulatory simplification in the EU and a turbulent transatlantic environment, the partnership comes at an opportune moment. Strengthening Europe’s competitiveness is a top concern for American companies operating throughout Europe. With a more robust economy, the EU can enhance its attractiveness for global investment and at the same time, navigate new challenges in the €8.7 trillion transatlantic economy.

In response to these priorities as well as calls from our membership and several national AmChams, the partnership offers a flexible way to engage with AmCham EU. It focuses on the regulatory and legislative work of the EU institutions, and as such operates alongside AmChams in Europe’s mission to champion international trade, investment and prosperity by fostering transatlantic cooperation. AmCham EU will support national AmChams in actively engaging on EU policy files, raising their visibility on EU priorities and increasing collective impact through closer collaboration. By combining national AmChams’ local insights and national government access with AmCham EU’s connections with EU institutions and advocacy on EU legislation, the initiative helps shape EU policy to improve the business environment locally, benefiting companies across our network.

AmCham EU and AmCham Luxembourg already have a strong track record of collaboration on EU priorities. Highlights include our yearly The Transatlantic Economy study, participation in AmCham Luxembourg’s Annual Transatlantic Conference, regular EU policy coordination calls and updates on EU issues impacting business, as well as various ad-hoc committee collaborations and joint efforts ahead of EU-US summits.

We are excited to build on these efforts and work more closely with AmCham Luxembourg to benefit all our members and further our joint objectives.

Best regards,

Malte Lohan
