After the dance solo Warrior (2018), which dealt with male stereotypes and the archetype of the warrior, Anne-Mareike Hess’s second solo Dreamer dives into her femininity by the exploration of stereotypes related to women. She builds a character, that of the dreamer, to explore the vision that society sends back to women and to deconstruct the stereotypes associated with them.

The owl, the bat and the tree may share the same environment. But from an artistic point of view, they are very differing subjects, and of a truly symbolic nature. Alan Johnston is an experienced sketcher and naturalist, knowing these subjects all too well.
