The Bonfire tradition – Buergbrennen
Buergbrennen is celebrated throughout Luxembourg, usually on on the weekend after Carnival Sunday, so 25/26 February in 2023 (although it can be as late as mid-March in some villages). Bonfires are lit to banish pesky winter spirits and welcome in spring.
