Introduction to the Interview with Artur from Voltmax
Green transformation requires long-term thinking – and that’s something our guest has mastered naturally.
Artur Sosna is not only the President of the Luxembourg-Poland Chamber of Commerce and an experienced business leader, but also a marathon runner who knows that the biggest changes begin with the first step.
For several years now, he has been deeply involved in the field of modern energy technologies as the Director of Development and Expansion at Voltmax.
Today, we’ll talk about what the energy transition looks like in Luxembourg – from the perspective of a practitioner who has been connecting markets, people, and values for years.
In this conversation, Artur shares his insights on the evolving energy market in the country, the growing awareness among customers, and the challenges faced by companies operating in the renewable energy sector.
He also discusses Voltmax’s development plans – from the opening of a showroom to tailored solutions for the agricultural sector.
Artur proves that photovoltaics today is not just an ecological choice, but a real opportunity for independence and savings.
Do residents of Luxembourg eagerly invest in solar installations?
Yes, the dynamic development of photovoltaics is particularly worth highlighting – solar energy production has increased by 22.4% and now accounts for nearly 25% of domestic energy generation. This is a strong signal that both the government and citizens are taking the green transition increasingly seriously.
How do you assess the current energy situation in Luxembourg?
The current energy situation in Luxembourg clearly reflects a strong dependence on imports – as much as 76% of electricity in 2024 came from abroad. This poses a significant strategic challenge, especially in times of geopolitical instability. At the same time, the country is consistently investing in the development of renewable energy sources in an effort to reduce this reliance.
An interesting aspect is also the structure of domestic energy production. While photovoltaics is growing at an impressive rate, in 2024 wind power remained the largest domestic energy source, accounting for 31% of production. Although its share decreased by 5.7% compared to the previous year, it still demonstrates how crucial wind remains in Luxembourg’s energy mix. Combined with the rapid growth of photovoltaic installations, it’s clear that renewables are taking on an increasing share of the country’s energy responsibility – in a nation that, until recently, was almost entirely dependent on imports.
Do you notice a shift in how residents approach energy?
There’s a clear shift in how people in Luxembourg think about energy. More and more residents are starting to ask: Where does my electricity come from? How much am I paying? What impact does it have on the environment? Environmental awareness is growing – and with it, the willingness to take action. Many people are now genuinely interested in renewable energy and energy independence.
Solar installations are becoming increasingly popular – not just on private homes, but also across businesses. People want more control over their energy consumption and monthly bills. More and more residents are switching providers, looking for better deals, and investing in solutions that offer greater independence.
In the past, renewables were often seen as complex and expensive. Today, they’re viewed as something normal – a smart choice, both financially and environmentally. This shift in mindset shows that the green transition is no longer just a government strategy; it’s becoming a shared decision among many residents.

Thanks to this, Voltmax continues to earn the trust of residents and grow as a reliable partner in the country’s energy transition.
What are the main strengths and unique advantages of Voltmax compared to the competition?
Voltmax stands out from the competition primarily thanks to its fast and responsive customer service – they reply promptly to inquiries, stay available at every stage of the project, and make sure the client feels supported from start to finish. Their approach is highly personalized, and communication is clear, direct, and professional.
Another major strength is the team’s strong technical expertise and hands-on experience. Voltmax doesn’t just install systems – they advise on the most effective, tailored solutions based on the building’s specifics and the client’s lifestyle. As a result, they deliver not just cutting-edge technology, but real value and long-term savings.
Just as important is their support with the entire administrative process. Voltmax helps with preparing all necessary documentation, applying for grants, and handling communication with local authorities. This makes the whole experience as smooth and stress-free as possible for the client.
It’s this combination of a comprehensive approach and high-quality service that makes clients eager to recommend Voltmax to others.
What types of clients do you usually work with?
We most often work with private individuals – homeowners looking to lower their electricity bills and gain more energy independence. Many of them are conscious consumers who seek modern, future-proof solutions – not just solar panels, but also energy storage systems, heat pumps, or EV chargers.
We also support companies and small businesses – from offices to workshops and warehouses – they want to optimize their operational costs and make better use of their rooftops. For these clients, it’s not only about savings but also about image – showing that they’re committed to green energy.
More and more frequently, we also collaborate with public institutions, such as schools, local authorities, or municipalities that want to implement renewables in their facilities. A great example is the project carried out in NaturPark OUR, where the PV installation not only generates electricity but also serves as an educational tool for children and the local community.
What does the client collaboration process look like – from first contact to installation?
At Voltmax, the collaboration process begins with a conversation – whether by phone, email, or in person. From the very start, we focus on understanding the client’s needs, analyzing the location, and assessing the technical possibilities. Based on this information, we prepare a tailored photovoltaic system design – including profitability calculations, estimated energy production, and a customized financial offer. When needed, we use drones to audit roofs or plots, ensuring we have a complete and accurate overview.
Once the offer is accepted, the client receives full support with all formalities. We handle the technical documentation, submit grant applications, and obtain the necessary administrative approvals – so the client doesn’t have to worry about a thing. Thanks to our in-depth knowledge of local regulations and subsidy programs in Luxembourg, we can truly lighten the load for the investor at every stage. This comprehensive approach and the trust our clients place in us are the foundations of our work.
After the formalities are completed, we move on to installation. Our local teams take care of every detail – from securely anchoring the structure to connecting the system and launching the app that monitors energy production. We also provide service support and warranty, because we believe that photovoltaics should be accessible, transparent, and hassle-free – from the first conversation to many years of use.
What are the biggest challenges when implementing photovoltaic projects in Luxembourg?
Implementing photovoltaic projects in Luxembourg comes with several significant challenges that require experience and a comprehensive approach. One of the main issues is the complex administrative procedures – while the country supports green energy, obtaining permits, grants, and approvals can be time-consuming and difficult for clients to handle on their own. That’s why it’s so important to have the support of a company that knows local regulations and can take full responsibility for the paperwork and communication with authorities. At Voltmax, we relieve our clients of these burdens at every step, allowing them to focus on the end result without the stress of formalities.
Another difficulty lies in the technical constraints of certain locations – especially in densely built-up urban areas, where roof space may be limited, shaded, or hard to access. In such cases, a thorough site analysis before preparing an offer becomes absolutely essential.
Client expectations also play a major role – particularly in Luxembourg, where the cost of living is high and customers expect not only environmentally friendly solutions, but also real financial benefits. That’s why every Voltmax proposal is based on solid calculations: from projected energy production and savings to available financing options. Photovoltaics must be profitable, reliable, and tailored to individual needs – and it’s our job to make that happen.
Does Voltmax help clients obtain information about grants and investment financing
Yes, at Voltmax we provide clients with full, free-of-charge advice on available grants and financing options. From the very first conversation, we analyze the client’s individual situation – their needs, location, as well as technical and budgetary possibilities. Based on that, we identify which support programs they may qualify for and which forms of funding would be most beneficial.
We work closely with institutions in Luxembourg and stay up to date with current regulations, which allows us to offer real, effective support in securing subsidies or tax incentives.
Clients don’t have to navigate complex regulations or fill out paperwork on their own – we take care of all formalities from A to Z. This includes preparing technical documentation, submitting grant applications, and handling administrative permits. Our goal isn’t just to design and install the system, but to fully support the investor and give them a sense of security at every step of the process.
What are your development plans for the coming years.
In the coming years, Voltmax is planning dynamic growth across several key areas that respond to the real needs of Luxembourg’s residents and the growing importance of sustainable construction. Very soon, we’ll be opening a new showroom where clients will be able to experience solutions suited for their houses in person – not only in photovoltaics, but also in comprehensive products for equipping energy-efficient homes. This will be a space that combines education with hands-on experience – a place for meetings, consultations, and inspiration.
Another important development direction is photovoltaics tailored to agricultural needs – both for crop fields and livestock operations. We’re seeing increasing interest from farm owners who want to reduce energy costs, gain greater independence, and operate more sustainably. That’s why we’re expanding our offering to include installations specifically designed for agriculture – higher-capacity systems, resistant to outdoor conditions, and optimized for long-term return on investment.
What would you say to people who are still hesitant about investing in solar energy?
To those still on the fence about investing in solar, I’d say this: it’s no longer just a trend – it’s a real opportunity to save money, gain independence, and take a step toward the future. Hesitations are natural, especially when it comes to a bigger investment, but that’s exactly why we’re here – to explain everything clearly, run the numbers, and tailor a solution to your needs, not the other way around.
Thanks to grants and modern financing options, solar energy is now accessible to a much wider range of people – not just large companies, but also families, homeowners, and farm owners. What’s more, installations pay off faster than just a few years ago, while also increasing property value and protecting you from rising energy prices.
At Voltmax, we don’t push – we explain, calculate, and advise, all free of charge. And if you decide to move forward, we’ll handle all the paperwork, assist with grants, and manage the entire process from A to Z. Because we believe that choosing solar is an investment in long-term peace of mind – for you, your family, and the environment.
