We extend an invitation to all interested parties to join us on 27 and 28 February 2026 at the University of Luxembourg (Belval Campus) for two days of information, awareness-raising and training on issues related to learning and the development of intercultural competences in Luxembourg.
Intercultural competences, or soft skills, refer to everyday practices and ways of being (empathy, active listening, curiosity, etc.) that are mobilised in interaction and do not necessarily require lengthy prior training. They are approached in light of their importance in various fields, particularly education and professional training, at a time when generative artificial intelligence is disrupting established (professional) practices.
These two days are structured around formal and informal opportunities for exchange, allowing everyone to contribute in the way they choose to. In particular, the theoretical and practical inputs provided during the introductory lectures are explored further in hands-on workshops focused on specific contexts and case studies. A round-table discussion brings each day to a close.
Four key questions run through all the presentations and workshops:
– What does an intercultural competence mean for each of us, in the context of our professional and/or personal activities (volunteering, leisure activities, etc.)?
– How important are intercultural competences in today’s world, marked by professional uncertainty and the increasing use of artificial intelligence?
– How can these competences be taught and learned?
– How can they be assessed and valued?
There two days are organized by Luxembourg multi-LEARN Institute in partnership with the association TRANSIT-Lingua and the University of Luxembourg and with the media support of AMCHAM Luxembourg. The languages of the event are English and French.
This event is organized within the project “Interculturality for Impact: Soft Skills in Practice” (SKILLS). SKILLS is carried out by Luxembourg multi-LEARN Institute asbl, with the support of the Ministry of Family Affairs, Solidarity, Living Together and Reception of Refugees (Luxembourg) and co-funded by the European Union under the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF).
