Huge success for the 2025 edition of the Honey Cooking Competition at the EHTL
First held in 1993, the Honey Cooking Competition is one of the EHTL’s flagship events, highlighting the work of Luxembourg’s beekeepers and providing an enriching experience for all the students who take part. Reserved for the school’s own students for 30 years, the competition took on an international dimension in 2023, and now welcomes young people from all over Europe to showcase their talent and creativity.
As part of the celebrations accompanying the school’s 75th anniversary, the competition supervisors, Mr. Marc Moris and Mr. Konstantinos Anagnostaras, along with their team, wanted to organise an exceptional edition, combining tradition and innovation.
The challenge they set themselves was a successful one, thanks to the use of extensive technical resources that enabled live broadcasts from the kitchen workshop, where the nine candidates prepared their menus with training and concentration.
Presided over by Mr Archibald de Prince, winner of the Bocuse d’or in Belgium, the jury tasted the starters, main courses and desserts, assessing creativity and originality, as well as the presentation of the dishes.
The young chefs then joined forces to form an international brigade and present their creations at a dinner attended by parents, accompanying adults, beekeepers, suppliers, sponsors and VIP guests. Everyone was delighted by the variety and quality of the dishes, as well as by the festive atmosphere of the evening and the excellent service provided by the school’s volunteer students, who were supervised by Mr Marc Moris.
Finally came the long-awaited moment when the results were announced:
– First prize: Raphaël Le Bayon (Lycée hôtelier Yvon Bourges Dinard) ;
– Best starter and best entry: Milla Van Steenbeek (EHTL)
– Best main course: Jordan Lefèvre (Campus des Métiers Sainte-Catherine Le Mans)
– Best dessert: Vaia Thanou (École Levi Thessaloniki)
Congratulations to all these young talents, who deserve our admiration!
