Dear AmCham Members, Partners and Friends,
Welcome to issue number 189 of your (and our!) AmCham Newsletter!
This week, we are honored to publish the first speech of our new Grand Duke Guillaume which he gave at his investiture two weeks ago. We are touched by the balance and sincerity of his speech, his promise to be above daily politics, along with his commitment to listen, touch and engage with all of the inhabitants of Luxembourg and dedicate himself to connect with and build bridges to bring all of the inhabitants of this very special and wonderful country together with fairness and mutual respect. His commitments are exactly what the country needs at this time in its history. We are very encouraged by this soft leadership and pledge our support. Please read this speech and join us!
Please also pay special attention to our very impressive lineup of Fall events. We have deliberately pushed some of our events into the busiest November month we have ever served you to give the most positive and comprehensive welcome to our new US Ambassador, Stacey Feinberg, who we expect to be joining us at the end of October. We hope you all will warmly join us in welcoming her as you participate in all of these events (which you will find and can sign up for via the details published later in this Newsletter). Please view these event offerings and join us!
Daniel, Sonja and I were very pleased last week to join Cândida Nedog from Aztec as she chaired the first meeting of our newly launching Marketing committee. Joined by Cédric Delahaye from Dentons, Charlotte de Vreeze from Chronicle and Elodie Besson from IQEQ, this will be a powerful committee helping us to communicate with our members, the broader community and our government partners.
As an additional special this week, we are pleased to share with you additional information from the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce. We have domiciled our AmCham offices for many years in the Chamber of Commerce building in Kirchberg which we agreed at the urging of Pierre Gramegna when he headed the Chamber of Commerce. Our offices are co-located on the same floor adjacent to the offices of the British and French Chambers of Commerce. We are all good partners and cooperate as well with the other bilateral Chambers of Commerce. Honoring this cooperation together two weeks ago the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce invited all of us to a shared lunch together with both Carlo Thelen and Xavier Bettel giving speeches and networking together. We are pleased to publish in this issue of our Newsletter photos of that lunch and a slide presentation from Mr. Thelen which explains the role and mission of the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce.
Also, in this Newsletter edition you will find updates from the AmCham EU team, press releases and information from our members, an absolutely wonderful food recipe and special news related to our member benefits club. Enjoy reading!
My respect and kindest regards,
Paul Schonenberg
