Dear AmCham Members, Partners, Friends and readers,
The entire AmCham team sends their fullest respect, appreciation and very best wishes to all of our members, partners, friends and guests who helped us again have such a fabulous Thanksgiving celebration last Friday evening. It was a huge amount of work, but well worth it for the smiles we saw on your faces, the social media posts and the kind notes of appreciation we have received.
I especially thank our Luxembourg Finance Minister, Gilles Roth, for his kind and generous networking with our guests, his excellent speech and for all of his energy and efforts over the past year to deliver tax reductions and other business relief during these difficult times. We and our guests very much appreciate these steps in the right direction and his commitment to continue to deliver further improvements in the business environment in the years to come. Please see his speech here.
I likewise most sincerely thank our gold and platinum partners for their generosity which enabled us to control costs so we could put on a great event that everyone could afford. Thank you Byborg, Cisco, Urban Livin, LetterOne, and TMF. We truly could not have done this without you.
Like many of you, I go to lots of parties and, quite frankly, most of the time I am disappointed by the food (which looks good but usually does not have a good taste). For the second year in a row, our Caterer, Restaurant Steinmetz in Bech, and his team put on a really great offering of excellent food and service. Everything was tasty, everything that was supposed to be served hot, was served that way. The wine glasses were never empty and Domaines Vinsmoselle certainly delivered on taste! Likewise, the ice cream was not melted on the apple pie and we had both Eggnog ice cream and Eggnog to drink courtesy of Luxlait!
Daniel and Anne with help from the Irish Ambassador, Jean McDonald delivered great tombola prizes from really wonderful partners. Our thanks to: Gin(e)Pro, Eveil des Sens, Ferrero International, RAK Porcelain Europe, Le Royal Hotels & Resorts, Cuir Shop Dudelange, Marriott Alfa Hotel, Byborg, SixSeven, Mediahuis, Losch Import, Gallery Art Management, Isabelle Kass Bijouterie-Joaillerie, Luxair, and Turkish Airlines.
Finally, Marco Boesen and his two colleagues delivered their great sound system and absolutely marvelous dance music for a long time of enjoyment by our guests. Thank you, Marco for your partnership with us! We look forward to seeing you again at the end of February for our Carnival Ball party!
In reviewing my recent Chairman’s Remarks, I noticed that I have not appropriately expressed my appreciation to Minister Lex Delles for his excellent speech at our second annual networking pizza breakfast at Pizza Hut under the auspices of the Membership Benefits Club. We had a great crowd, and the Minister gave a wonderful speech and plenty of networking attention to all of our small business community guests. We are delighted to have the Pizza Hut/Exki team as a partner and AmCham member and thank them for the great food and drinks and welcoming service. I also want to thank Giovanni Patri who is the chair of our Entrepreneurial / Small Business committee and his company Phoenici for financially sponsoring this event. Sincere thanks, Giovanni.
Last evening, we did our last event of the year, our annual Transatlantic Trade and Investment analysis event with our friends from AmCham EU at Deloitte Headquarters in Cloche d’Or. My thanks to Ambassador Barrett for his moving address explaining again the enormity of the reciprocal investments based on shared values which hold America and Europe together in the most powerful trade alliance the world has ever seen.
The AmCham family most sincerely thanks you all for your friendship and support. Have a wonderful Christmas and Hanukkah season. We look forward reconnecting with you and continuing to move forward with you in the New Year!
With respect and our very best regards,
Paul Schonenberg
