Dear AMCHAM Members, Partners and friends,
Welcome to your last AMCHAM Newsletter before we take our summer break! As so many of you will be gone on well-deserved holidays over the next 2 months, we will focus our attention on other needed activities. We look forward to reengaging with you in mid-September!
We were delighted to have very good news last week when the Luxembourg criminal court announced a 48-month prison sentence against our ex-employee who we terminated for just cause and filled a criminal complaint against four years ago. Please see all of the details on this case in the Chronicle article published below. My sincere thanks to all of our members and friends who have stood with us through this difficult period. Your belief in us gave us the energy we needed to fight for the successful outcome we have just received! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Tomorrow on Friday, we are very pleased to join our friends at the Polo Club Luxembourg for their three-day tournament, Friday through Sunday. We look forward to seeing you at the Pink and White Ball on Friday evening and for all of the matches and party activities over the weekend!
Our feature interview this week is with Marc Jacobs, the leader of the Hofstede Insights organization activities here in Luxembourg. I personally am a strong believer in this cultural analysis methodology process and find it a very helpful tool for understanding how and why people are the way they are and how they think, function and are influenced within cultural groups. This methodology is proven and provides great insights. Have a look and enjoy the article!
Over the summer break we will continue to internally work with a special focus on relaunching our committees, moving forward with our events and advocating initiatives which support a stronger economy and a better quality of life… for all of the inhabitants of this beautiful and peaceful country in the heart of Europe. Our work will involve frequent engagement with the members of the Chamber of Deputies, government Ministers and government functionaries… and each other. We do this because we love Luxembourg and want it to regain its strong historical lead as the best country in Europe to live and work, with the best economy ensuring the best quality of life, a peaceful and prosperous melting pot of locals and foreigners who appreciate and mutually support each other for the benefit of all!
To those of you who are members, thank you for giving us your support so we can serve you and your interests! To those of you who are not yet members, join us (with details HERE)!
With my respect and kindest regards,
Paul Schonenberg
Chairman and CEO
