Welcome to the 3rd June 2021 issue of your AMCHAM Newsletter! Thank you for letting us support you, your companies and your employees as we emerge from the Covid crisis and move into relaunching the economy.

One of the principle practical consequences of the Covid crisis has been an enormous acceleration of digital transformation activities across all spectrums of our society. I am not sure we all fully understand the dynamics of this transformation… where we are going and how things will turn out. In truth, we have all gotten on a train without knowing the details of the destination, the full costs, the time of arrival and what we will find at the end of the journey. We only know we are on a very fast moving train which we can’t get off of! This digital transformation is happening, can’t be stopped, will significantly change our lives in ways which we do not fully understand or appreciate, and those of our children as well, forever!
Clearly this subject of digital transformation is important and therefore this will be a recurring area of interest and involvement for AMCHAM as we move forward.
For this reason, We are delighted with this issue to present to you an exclusive interview with Gérard Hoffmann, the visionary and very successful CEO of Proximus. His education and career path have given him both a local and a global perspective on all aspects of the IT/Communication/Digital industry. We thank him for his inciteful interview filled with much wisdom and understanding and know you will enjoy reading his analysis of what has happened, why and where we are going!
