Dear Amcham members and friends,
We are currently living in a challenging period. Will we have war or a peaceful resolution to the situation between Ukraine and Russia, and how, besides the two sides of Russia and Ukraine, will this situation play out and influence us here in Luxembourg, Europe, and the rest of the world?
Please read my essay further in this Newsletter. Please also read the “just in case” article we have solicited from Charles Thill, a very experienced Boy Scout who has offered some very sound practical advice on building an emergency 72-hour survival kit. Even though Luxembourg is relatively safe, we encourage each of you to put just a small effort into being prepared for an emergency for at least the first 72 hours to give time for the emergency services to provide support to all of us inhabitants. Remember the old adage, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure…” and put just a minimal effort into putting a few emergency supplies in your home.
That said, and returning to more normal considerations, we have invited Stéphane Compain for an interview with us to talk about the changing nature of the relocation business and the challenges for newcomers trying to adapt to Luxembourg. Stéphane really knows his stuff, and his advice is spot on and will help new employees relocating into Luxembourg to quickly achieve a desirable level of comfort with this country. In the spirit that “you only have one chance to make a good impression,” relocation support is essential to help newcomers adapt and thrive in Luxembourg. Nice article, Stéphane . Thanks for writing it.
Please look at the other information pieces and our newly announced physical events. We are confident and therefore trying our very best to relaunch our historically very appealing physical event programs and will be adding multiple events over the next several weeks. We do this in response to your many requests… and we promise to do this as safely as possible! Join us!!!
With respect and my very best regards,
Paul Schonenberg
