Welcome, dear members and friends, to the 23 September 2021 issue of your AMCHAM Newsletter!
Like all of you, we are excited to see Luxembourg taking first steps to enter a new, post Covid, routine. This new world, will not be a return to the past. Rather, it will be a step into a new future. We are committed to partner with you to make a success of this new world! All of us working together can make it happen!
Just this past Tuesday evening, I had the pleasure to attend a small reception at the US embassy to welcome new members of the Embassy team who are settling in after arriving over the Summer. My compliments to Casey Mace and his team for an excellent reception under evening stars! We are lucky to have Casey and this high energy team of dedicated professionals working with and for us and extend to all of them, old and new, our respect, offer of partnership and very best wishes.
I was likewise pleased to see and talk with my friends from the Ministry of economy, Tom Theves, the senior Civil Servant and Luc Decker, our former Consul to Shanghai. Luxembourg is blessed to have these strong public servants who are so dedicated and who serve with such wisdom and enthusiasm!
Last but certainly not least, this event hosted a very strong contingent of the leaders running our new Luxembourg Space Companies! We in AMCHAM are excited to be working with them though our now-being-formed Space Committee.
As part of our focus on relaunching the economy, we have decided to launch a quarterly series of events focused on promoting TECHNOLOGY MADE IN LUXEMBOURG via Zoom webinars, in partnership with LACCNYC in New York. While Luxembourg is well known for our financial sector, less well known but hugely important is our capacity to invent, innovate and grow the technology and companies of tomorrow. Join us to learn more about our Luxembourg success story technology national champions, via TECHNOLOGY MADE IN LUXEMBOURG events each quarter throughout the year!
On our cover of this Newsletter, we are excited to present the third generation of the Happy Snacks company, the parent organization for all of the Pizza Hut and EXKi food stores in Luxembourg. Alexander is just taking on the leadership of this successful company from his father, and we are delighted to share with you his success story during the Covid crisis and his vision for the future. In a future interview, we will interview his father to talk about growing the business, transferring leadership to accommodate a change of generations and his post career adventure with an enormous expedition vehicle!
Over the coming months, we are looking forward to putting increased emphasis to introducing you to our member companies and telling their stories, relaunching our committee structure as we start again to safely have physical events, preparing the 5th editions of Doing Business in Luxembourg which we hope to launch both digitally and in paper versions in 6 languages, launching a digital library to provide low cost/high quality career development education and training, and further growing our Member Benefits Club (MBC)! If you are already a member, we invite you to become even more deeply involved. If you are not yet a member, start the process of joining us by clicking here.
We are your international English-speaking Chamber, here to serve you with all of the energy, wisdom and enthusiasm we can give! Thanks for allowing us to serve you…. and Luxembourg!
With respect and our very best wishes,
Paul
