Dear AmCham Members, Partners, Subscribers and Friends,
We are very pleased to publish an interview this week with one of Luxembourg’s most currently well-known artists, Sumo! From large scale murals stretching across many meters of space, or turning his work into raincoats, Sumo is an amazing Contemporary artist who vividly employs vibrant colors across a very broad range of visual media to inspire and connect with his audience. I am particularly impressed by the very large-scale mural he has relatively recently created leading into the entrance of a retail establishment at the intersection of Bonnevoie and Howald.
In our interview we have tried to give Sumo the opportunity to tell his story, to share his passion and also to explain his journey in the hope that by so doing, we can inform and encourage other creative people to follow their dreams. We also have hoped to connect Sumo with our non-artist audience who may find in art a degree of emotional connections that inspire and potentially enhance creativity and well bring. Our video link this week presents the US Secretary of Defense giving a speech to soldiers assigned in the Middle East. Under this new Secretary of Defense, recruitment numbers have surged allowing the United States for the first time in several years to meet its recruitment quotas. We thought you all might be interested to see the communication style and content which has created this drastic turnaround in achieving these military recruitment targets.

On Tuesday, May 20th, we were pleased to be hosted by Portus Data Centers in Kockelscheuer for our monthly AWD, please see the pictures here. We all had a really interesting time touring a real data center to see how they operate… and the post-tour networking was great too.
