Dear AmCham members, partners and friends,
Welcome and our very best wishes for a healthy, happy and successful new year to you, your families and your companies!
We are very pleased to feature new year greetings from US Ambassador Stacey Feinberg as our feature article in this, our first AmCham Newsletter of 2026. Ambassador Feinberg has done an amazing job and shown amazing energy, excitement and the strongest possible motivation during her first several months as the United States Ambassador to Luxembourg. We are delighted to have her with us and sincerely thank her for passion and desire to represent and serve.
We are also honored to feature an interview with Mr. Claude Marx, Director General of the CSSF in which we take this opportunity to present some feedback from Mr. Marx, who has important points to share.
2026 is the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Luxembourg chapter affiliate of the American Chamber of Commerce. Every European country has an American Chamber of Commerce affiliate. We are proud and pleased here at AmCham.lu to be part of that family and to serve you all and Luxembourg..
Each AmCham accredited by our parent organization, the US Chamber of Commerce, exists because of the voluntary support and efforts of their members. We are all privately funded without any governmental supports of any kind. All of us located here in Europe are dedicated to supporting and promoting the hugely successful and strongly beneficial transatlantic trade and investment partnership while also being internally focused to support international and local business activities, address the needs of our local and expat employees and their families. We do all of this through networking events, provision of information about local policies and procedures, problem solving when better solutions are needed and lobbying with government and other institutional bodies to ensure fair and equitable treatment for our companies, employees and their families.
While we never ask for preferential treatment, we are courageous, unafraid and relentless in our advocacy to make sure the voices and legitimate expectations of our members companies and their employees are heard and receive properly fair consideration.
At AmCham.lu, we are proud of our success on your behalf, pleased by our results and thankful for your appreciation and support that has allowed us to become and stay the largest and most active Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg.
Through our 17 committees, our extensive central and smaller events, our governmental engagement, our weekly digital newsletter, our Member Benefits program, and our governmental advocacy we are here to serve and support you. If you are not yet an AmCham.lu member, please find the appropriate details HERE. Feel free also to contact me personally at Paul@amcham.lu.
As special projects during 2026, we are working hard to publish the 5th edition of our very much appreciated comprehensive Doing Business in Luxembourg (DBIL5), convert our AmCham member benefits program into a telephone based app connected to a digital services directory to better connect you to our partner retailers and their offerings of good and services eligible for AmCham special pricing discounts. With this new digital app, we will expand the AmCham membership participation to include every AmCham affiliated employee and their partners. This telephone app will also allow no cost connection with an AmCham digital library. More details on that soon!
We welcome and very much will appreciate member companies helping us with the DBIL publication at the 2026 AmCham Thanksgiving celebration by buying imbedded advertising published in the DBIL 5 paper and digital editions.
2026 will be a busy and exciting year. We commit to do everything we can to serve you. We hope and count on you being with us!
My respect and very best wishes,
Paul Schonenberg
