Welcome to the first Fall issue of your AMCHAM NEWSLETTER. We are happy to be back after the Summer holiday break and hope you all are joining us with similar renewed energy and passion as we move into the Fall season and continue our efforts to restore the strength of all sectors of the Luxembourg economy.
We are very pleased in this issue to welcome Guus Boekhoudt, the Head of Guardian Industries here in Luxembourg. Mr. Boekhaudt has a business mandate well beyond the borders in Luxembourg with senior leadership supervisory responsibilities for Europe, Russia, Mid East, Africa and Asia! He therefore uniquely offers our readers a very expanded world view perspective in his remarks about dealing with the Covid crisis and the challenges businesses face both here and abroad. This is a very interesting and useful read which I am sure you will enjoy. Please take note as well that this important leader strongly embraces the importance of honest timely communication and the absolute critical importance of teamwork. Thank you Mr Boekhaudt for sharing your experiences and your wisdom!
As we launch our Fall program, we are pleased to do so in partnership with our good friends at the Luxembourg American Chamber of Commerce in New York (LACCNYC). All of the 27 member countries of the European Union have American Chambers of Commerce functioning within their borders. But we in Luxembourg are the only AMCHAM in Europe which enjoys a partnership affiliation with a counterparty in the United States. Be assured this is a win-win for both sides. In this context we are very proud and pleased to be launching with LACCNYC a quarterly ongoing series of events devoted to Technology made in Luxembourg where we introduce and highlight the capabilities of unique Luxembourg based companies which are technology leaders on a global scale. We will do our first dedicated event on 23 September and are excited to introduce BMedical and Molecular Plasma Group.
