On behalf of Toastmasters District 59 Division D Alsace, Lorraine and Luxembourg and the Toastmasters Leadership Institute, we would like to thank all members of AMCHAM who have registered and attended the Toastmasters Leadership Institute on January 30th, 2021. We had a great turnout with over 200 people registering and over 100 people attending during the afternoon.
What is Toastmasters?
Toastmasters International is a non-profit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs. Headquartered in Englewood, Colo., the organization’s membership exceeds 364,000 in more than 16,200 clubs in 145 countries. Since 1924, Toastmasters International has helped people from diverse backgrounds become more confident speakers, communicators, and leaders.

… In the middle of the program, we have run a Toastmasters Demo meeting to let attendees get a feel for what they can get out of attending a Toastmasters meeting. We ran one in English chaired by Virginia Anderson and one in French Chaired by Fatima Rahmoune
The demo meeting consisted of 2-minute impromptu speeches, prepared speeches and evaluations of the various speeches. It really gave a flavour of the skills one can develop when running meetings and speaking in public. Our goal was run a virtual meeting to give attendees tips and ideas how to run meetings online and make a professional impact.
AMCHAM Luxembourg will be setting up an AMCHAM Toastmasters Corporate Club where members of AMCHAM can join and work on their leadership and communication skills.
