Team Amcham and I wish all of you Merry Christmas, a wonderful Holiday Season, a very happy New Year’s Eve, and all manner of good health, happiness and success for the coming New Year 2024!!!
This is the last of our digital newsletters for 2023. We are pleased to send you our annual Christmas card as the cover of this last 2023 newsletter with all of our greetings and very best wishes. Thank you for believing in and supporting us. We pledge all our strength, skill and energy to defend and support you in the New Year and help you achieve all of your corporate, professional and personal goals and ambitions.
Enclosed please find the Chronicle article by Geoff Thompson detailing our financial-sector focused Christmas lunch with Claude Marx, along with the photo collection taken by our own Daniel McKenzie. As Geoff has said, this was a great lunch party attended by a great financial-sector crowd with Mr. Marx being warmly eloquent and informative, as he always is. We thank him for his charmingly expressed wisdom and the sharing of his advice for the coming year. Our thanks also to all of the elite attendees from the breadth and depth of the Luxembourg financial sector who joined us for this brilliant networking event. Likewise, we most sincerely thank the Le Royal Hotel catering team and in particular Ms. Iuliana Gana, Senior Sales Executive, for the wonderful food and drinks served with such excellent, attentive, caring and friendly professional service! It sometimes is the case at banquets that everything looks good, but neither the execution nor the taste of the food and drinks is fully satisfying. This was certainly not the case for this event as the Le Royal team did everything just right with a perfect crémant cocktail reception, followed by a unique goat cheese, walnut wilted spinach salad as starter, followed by really good tasting chicken with Mediterranean vegetable main course, followed by a perfect lemon citron sorbet for dessert. And, lest I forget, the white and the red wines were really nice too! Thank you Team Royal for taking such good care of us!
We are a bit disappointed that we did not have the sign up numbers we had hoped for to enable us to have our proposed last event of the year, a Christmas dance party Gala, which we hoped to hold with the British Luxembourg Society and the Romania Luxemburg Business Forum. I admit that we did put this together a bit at the last minute… Unfortunately, we have not had the sign up support we need to cover our costs, so, we have had to postpone the event, returned the payments to those who signed up and we will relaunch this as a Gala Carnival party on 1 March 2024, with live dancing and music. Please register to join us for this when we open back up for business with the event launched on our website in early January.
Our Member Benefits Club grows from strength to strength with the Christmas gift offerings catalog included later in this newsletter. We are honored and very pleased to share with you holiday greetings and best wishes from several of the most important politicians in Luxembourg; Claude Wiseler, Lex Delles, Gilles Roth. We have in return sent them your and our holiday greetings and best wishes and most especially have sent the government a three-page letter expressing our opinions and recommendations on the initiatives we all hope they will undertake in the New Year to further strengthen Luxembourg as a preferred European business location and a better place for us and our families to live! We will share this letter with you when we all return after the holidays!
