Dear AmCham members, partners, subscribers and friends,
Welcome to your AmCham digital Newsletter number 180! We are delighted to inform all of you (over 10,000 subscribers now!) with the English language news we offer to help you thrive and prosper here in the best international business location in Europe. Thank you for letting us serve and support you. Thank you also for any most appreciated feedback you decide to send to us!
We are delighted this week to feature an interview with a second next generation international business leader, Vitalij Farafonov, who has recently decided to focus his attention on increasing his knowledge and skills by studying AI. It takes courage and strength of character to undertake such a career change. We thank Vitalij for his very interesting interview story. Please enjoy reading it.
Almost two weeks ago, we hosted our annual board and AGM meetings. I am pleased to report to you on behalf of our Executive Committee that both meetings validated the support and appreciation of our membership for the activities of the chamber for last year, approved the budget proposed for the present year and endorsed the action agenda going forward.
Last week, we were very pleased to draw a large HR community audience for an excellent A&O Shearman evening event on the topic of managing sick leave and other work absences. With work absences increasing post Covid, this matter is very much on the minds of HR professionals who are concerned about helping and supporting the legitimate needs of employees while protecting companies against abuses. We hope you enjoy the photos from this event.
On our upcoming event agenda, we encourage you all to join our upcoming Polo tournament. Please note in the signup information later in this newsletter, there are a few open seats available for the Gala party dinner (including at the AmCham reserved tables) with AmCham member prices charged at the same cost as polo club members. Please contact daniel@amcham.lu for further details and to book your tickets.
Likewise, please contact daniel@amcham.lu and buy your tickets for the AmCham Golf Tournament at the Golf de Luxembourg – Belenhaff in Junglinster (see details later on in the Newsletter).
Enjoy the rest of this week’s Newsletter!
My respect and very best wishes,
Paul Schonenberg
