Dear Members and friends,
Welcome to the 4 March 2021 issue of the AMCHAM.lu Newsletter!
Among the highest priority agenda items for many of us going through this Corona Virus period, are issues related to the safety and education of the children who represent the future of our societies and who will carry on civilization long after we are gone. Home schooling and all of the challenges of this lock down period have not been kind to children (nor their parents) and many people are both eager to know about the long term impacts on the children and the steps we can take to mitigate adverse consequences.
We are very pleased in this issue of our Newsletter to present a serious and thoughtful interview with Claude Meisch during which we have asked him the questions which you have suggested we ask him. We sincerely thank Minister Meisch for taking time from his busy schedule to talk about the challenges and solutions associated with children, teachers, the rest of the challenges of the lock down period and the way forward to ensure these young ones are properly prepared to take their rightful place in society and world of the future. Thank you very much Minister Meisch for your thoughtful answers and your obvious commitment in support of the schools, students and teachers.
Also in the issue, we give you an update on the new aid scheme for self-employed persons,a summary of our very interesting upcoming events (including our lunch time 8 March joint event with the Lux times and BCC giving further news from Minister Lenert on pandemic related issues, our annual International women’s day event on 8 March with PWC and LACCNYC, and a second women-focused entrepreneur event on 24 March with LACCNYC), and an article on our new member , the IT company Skeeled, which is run by an innovative group of young tech empowered entrepreneurs.
