Expired International Women’s Day 2024


For the seventh continuous year in Luxembourg, PwC, Baker McKenzie and AMCHAM are joining forces to celebrate the International Women’s Day (IWD) as an iconic moment to reflect on how far we want to push the gender needle in today’s society.

Each year, we gather a group of insightful and daring speakers to nurture a genuine, inspirational and thought-provoking conversation around the opportunities and challenges of gender balance and inclusion.

Join us for this special day of 8 March 2024 from 10:30 to 14:00 at PwC Crystal Park.

The 2024 edition assumes the world IWD theme of #InspireInclusion and dives deep into the many facets and stakes surrounding the achievement of an inclusive society. Such impactful topic will be approached by raising questions such as:

  • How would you describe inclusion and what should it mean specifically in 2024?
  • How do you embrace inclusion in your role?
  • What do you feel is challenging in achieving inclusion in today’s business environment and society in general? What solutions would you see?

Our panel boasts a diverse mosaic, spanning across generations, nationalities, and gender, ensuring a multifaceted and inclusive dialogue.

Panelists bios

Analia Clouet is the Secretary General and Deputy Head of the Legal Department of Banque Raiffeisen, one of the largest retail banks in Luxembourg. Her area of expertise is Governance, Legal and Regulatory Affairs. As a Member of the Management, Analia Clouet supports Banque Raiffeisen in its ongoing transformation towards a new model advocating long-term growth, through the integration of human and sustainable dimensions, as well as the preservation of its cooperative values. She holds a Master of Laws from the University of Cologne, a Master in Business Law and Economics from the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, and an Executive Master in Management from Emlyon Business School.

Avanti Sharma is 17 years old and she is the Brand Ambassador at Girls in Tech Luxembourg and the Pre-Teen Technology Specialist at Workshop4Me. Avanti Sharma stands for the sustainable development goals, gender equality, and aims to bridge the gender gap in education. Earlier in October 2023, she won the WomenInTech Europe Awards Aspiring Teen Award, and went on to represent Europe at a global scale in the WomenInTech Global Awards held in Dubai at the Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park in November.

Iain Fish has spent 25 years working at and leading schools in South East Asia and Europe. He has a passion for creating harmonious and open-minded school communities where all members of the community feel valued, safe and free from any form of discrimination, and believes that students thrive and learn most effectively in such a setting. As a consultant, Iain Fish offers a sensitive approach to school leadership, focusing on the diverse voices that contribute to school improvement. A long-term advocate for a more inclusive education model, he has been working with the DEIJ initiative at the International School of Luxembourg for 3 years.

Marjolijne Droogleever Fortuyn was born in Tunis in 1963. She grew up in the Netherlands and graduated in law from the University of Utrecht. She obtained a postgraduate degree in law (LLM) from the University of Cambridge (UK) and more recently successfully completed the International Directors Program at INSEAD. Marjolijne worked as an attorney in The Hague (NL) and Brussels (BE) before she came to Luxembourg where she has been working in the financial sector since 1992. Amongst others, she was Head of Legal and Human Resources of ABN AMRO Bank Luxembourg. As from 1 November 2019, she has been Head of Legal Affairs of BNP Paribas, Luxembourg Branch, leading a very international team of 12 lawyers. Marjolijne is also a Board Member of the Luxembourg Directors Institute (ILA) and member of ILA’s Nomination & Remuneration Committee. And she happens to be married to the current  Prime Minister of Luxembourg.
