On 17 November, the AMCHAM members and friends celebrated American Thanksgiving. We were particularly honored and proud to celebrate this American tradition here in Luxembourg with our local and international friends and in the presence of our guest speaker Deputy prime Minister and Minister of the Economy Etienne Schneider along with a distinguished group of ambassadors.

On 4 October 2017 the speakers gave insights on who is eligible, what are the rules and how can employers and employees implement fair and legal solutions for homeworking.

On 27 September 2017, AMCHAM invited senior politicians from the six principle political parties in Luxembourg offering each of them 7 minutes time to tell the assembled Luxembourg and International attendees of this event why foreign and Luxembourg nationality voters should vote for their respective political parties in the October Communal elections.

On 26 September 2017, AMCHAM, APSI and PwC Luxembourg organized a "Resourcing IT" event, focusing  on what needs  to be done to get Luxembourg the trained IT people it needs.

Research proves that diverse, gender- and culturally-balanced teams generate better results than comparable homogenous organizations. With this event, organized on 20 September 2017, AMCHAM Luxembourg and The Network provide a platform for discussion regarding the power in, and potential profits from a diverse and gender balanced workforce.

On 8 May 2017 Minister for Family Affairs and Integration Corinne Cahen spoke about the 2017 “I Can Vote” Campaign. Other English speaking business organizations joined our AMCHAM members for this lunch.

On 17 May 2017, AMCHAM’s COMIT and FINCOM Committees organized a discussion on how to take control of your risk in the context of the upcoming entry into force on 25 May 2018 of the new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The event was organized in the presence of and with a panel introduction by Commissioner Christophe Buschmann.

AMCHAM, in cooperation Digital Lëtzebuerg, the lead sponsor of the event, and together with BCE, SECURITYMADEIN.LU and FPV Racing Luxembourg organized a one day event on April 27th at the heart of the historical Junglinster Longwave Transmitter .

On 21 March 2017 AMCHAM's Tax Committee organized an event on the topic: "Update on US and European tax policy and its impact on Luxembourg".

AMCHAM Luxembourg, in partnership with The British Chamber of Commerce organized on 6 March a lunch with guest speaker Luc Frieden, partner at Elvinger Hoss Prussen law firm and Chairman of BIL.

AMCHAM Luxembourg, in partnership with The British Chamber of Commerce,  welcomed  H. E. Mr. John Marshall, British Ambassador to Luxembourg, as the guest speaker for the February ABAL luncheon.

The seminar held on 2 February 2017 looked at the data protection and employment law rules with respect to the monitoring of employees at the workplace, including recent Luxembourg case law on the matter.

On 24 January 2017, AMCHAM was honored to partner with STEP Benelux for an event on the topic "Understanding how Reporting under CRS/FATCA and US Tax Aspects impact Foreigners using the USA for Wealth Management and Business in their structure". We are grateful for the input provided by our two guest speakers, Andrew Knight and James O'Neal.
