Dear AMCHAM Members and Friends,

After a long and challenging implementation project, it is now time for all MIFID firms to operate their new processes and control framework.

Join us on 17 April at Banque de Luxembourg starting at 19.00 to learn more about the key roles and responsibilities of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd lines of defense!

Despite MiFID II having gone live on 3 January 2018, the financial industry is still busy with the implementation of remedial plans to ensure compliance with this imposing piece of legislation. In order to provide a wide audience with an insight on the efforts surrounding MiFID II, a panel of industry experts from different backgrounds will be dissecting how the industry has handled the initial changes and what needs to expect next as the shifting regulatory landscape brings new issues to light. It is essential that the industry reconsiders and revisits missed opportunities in the run-up to MiFID and reconnects them with projects that have previously taken a backseat to preparation efforts. In this vein, the AmCham MiFID II event will provide an opportunity to discuss not only the current status of the MiFID II efforts, but also, more importantly, the lessons learned from the entry into force as well as some food for thought as to how the future of the banking and financial industry may look like.

Our guest speakers David Schmidt (CFA, CEFA, Head of Private Banking Investment, Banque de Luxembourg), Gilles Walers (Legal Adviser, ABBL) and Benjamin Accadia (Senior Manager, Ernst & Young Business Advisory Services) will share their insights on this topic.

This is the launch event for the AMCHAM Risk, Audit & Compliance Committee. If you are an auditor, a compliance or risk manager (or just interested in the topic), please come! Thank you for joining us.
